It may be hard to imagine but, the bridal bouquet on the day of the wedding can have such a HUGE effect on your wedding images! I’m sure you have heard the saying “flower power”, yes? The same holds true with the bouquet! The biggest pops of color in an image can come from the bridal bouquet alone. Yes, you have your centerpieces, and the boutinneers, but the bouquet can be incorporated into just about any part of the day!

A bouquet done well, and done right can bring the entire wedding theme together. After all, it is such an important piece of the wedding day decor! Throughout our time working alongside the bride we may use her bouquet for some detailed shots along side her dress or shoes. We will have her carry it with her for her bridal portraits as well as when it’s time for those intimate, private portraits with just her and her groom. During the reception we will use the bouquet for a close up shot with the rings, and after we are finished, it usually serves as a centerpiece for the bride and grooms sweetheart or head table.

The cost of florals on the wedding day is one thing we often hear about from our brides and grooms. It is true, that the cost of florals is a huge investment on the day of the wedding, but, not one you should skimp on.  Sometimes a bride might look into using silk or fake flowers instead.

If you are undecided on whether to choose fake silk flowers, or fresh ones – let me say this. Fake florals can get expensive. FAST. Though, yes,  they may look elegant and yes you may hold onto them long after the wedding – most times they don’t photograph well. Often times, you can see the thread of the flowers in the photos, preventing us from getting any tight, detailed shots of the bouquet. Even worse, the ends of the petals may be come frayed throughout the day. If you are on a smaller budget for your bouquet a budget you may choose to consider is to just invest into your BRIDAL BOUQUET. Your maids bouquets can be smaller and not so elaborate and there is no shame in that! Everything still photographs well together, and makes the brides bouquet stand out more in group photos. After all, as we’ve said before, it is one thing that will be viewed and photographed the MOST on your wedding day!
