Dear Aric,
How are we here already?! Can we just stop? Take a pause? Just for a minute? I know I say this every month, but this time I REALLY mean it. Can we just slow down? The next few months are my favorite time. It’s the time when your personality really starts to shine through. It’s the “I’ll giggle at all of your kisses” stage. The “I’ll be happy and content through everything” stage. But, it’s also the chaos before the crawling everywhere, walking, running getting into everything stage. I think you can see why I just want to slow things down.
You’ve started eating baby food, and man oh man. Do you love it! Especially sweet potatoes. You will sit and eat a whole jar in one feeding. So far, I think they rank highest on your list, and bananas, actually are the least favorite. You are rolling over back to front, front to back. And in the blink of an eye, you scoot your self around to new places on the floor. You are grabbing everything… toys, mommys hair, your feet, mommys hair, your bottle, mommys hair, small objects… but mostly, mommys hair.
Each day you melt my heart more and more. In fact, it’s pretty much mush when I’m around you. Your chunky monkey legs and big toothless grin are kryptonite to anyone..but, especially mommy and daddy. David has become more eager to play with you in the last few weeks. And you try to play back as best you can. He thinks you are “so much cooler now that you are big”.
I know we wont be in this stage for long. And that’s okay. I really am okay with that. Im just doing the best I can to take in each moment every day with you, while you are still little enough to fit in my arms.
