They met by way of a friend surfing at the Sun Glow Pier in Port Orange, Florida.
Kelly, at the time, worked as a nanny. The couple she worked for frequently talked of surfing. One day, Kelly took interest and finally asked if she could tag along for the afternoon. The couple agreed and brought another friend as well, who brought John along with him.
Kelly was introduced to John and an instant connection was made. Kelly shared that she had attended a Gator game at UF the night before and John mentioned he was a student at the University of Florida. From there, conversations turned into sushi dates, walks on the beach, and even adventures to other countries.
Time had seemed to fly by. After a sushi dinner one night they returned home and sat by the pond in their backyard soaking in the evening. It was there in the solitude near the pond that John asked Kelly to spend her life with him, forever.
(They will be saying “I do” this year on their 6 year anniversary!)
