When I started in this industry seven years ago, there weren’t a lot of photographers in this area… and if there were, I had no idea who they were. Today, times have changed. Anyone who owns a camera (or even an iPhone) may consider themselves a photographer. There are hundreds of photographers right here in Palm Coast! Some who are just starting out, and others who know this business like the back of their hand. ( I’d like to think I fall somewhere in the middle.) But let’s be honest here… This industry is hard. Constantly competing with each other, judging other photographers, fighting for the next booking, trying to have the lowest price to get the most business… Right?
Wrong. I believe that’s what the world wants you to think. I’m very thankful to say that this industry is NOT like that at all. Yes, it is hard – that much is true. But, the hard part isn’t in the competition. The most difficult part of this job, is the work you put into learning about the industry and making your business grow. Most photographers I’ve met in this business have been nothing but encouraging, outgoing, and helpful. Is there competition? Yes, of course there is! It’s a business! Though there is competition, that doesn’t mean there should be jealously, or anger. The truth is, we live in a community that is flooded with clients who all want a photographer who fits something specific that they are looking for. Each photographer has his or her own unique style that they offer in terms of composition, and they type of subjects that they shoot. I’m happy to have worked along side some of these brilliant women in this industry, and have even had the privilege of being entrusted to capture some of their own life moments as well.
Meet Jessica Gray.
Jessica is the owner of Jessica Gray Photography. I was so very nervous to meet her! Her images are modern, deep, bold in color and absolutely breath-taking. Currently, she specializes in family and maternity shoots, but would like to branch out more into newborns and weddings. She is such a sweetheart, and an incredibly talented photographer and I’m so happy she asked me to shoot a few photos for her for her new website she is working on. I’m also very excited to say she will be shooting OUR family photos on Tuesday (and I’m really nervous to be in front of the camera!)!
If you are looking for some a remarkable photographer who will make you laugh and capture some of the most amazing moments for your family (or family-to-be) please give Jess a buzz. You wont be disappointed from what she has to offer!
