A handful of small white pews lined the walls of the Amore Wedding Chapel in St. Augustine, Florida. Jackson stood in front of a large stained glass window that flooded the room in a radiant warm orange glow.
At the top of the aisle he fought back tears as Mercedes walked down to see him for the first time on their wedding day.
Their love story began many years ago in middle school and grew throughout the years of high school together. It didn’t take long for them to fall head over heels for one another (even though Jackson knew from the start that there was never a moment he didn’t want to marry Mercedes). As they headed off to college, their relationship grew even deeper, and each more fond of the other.
Late one evening after Mercedes had recently finished her BFA, the two walked hand in hand along a star filled sky overlooking the ocean. It was there, after 8 years together, Jackson asked Mercedes to be his wife. And on a warm June evening, dressed in a white gown and burgundy suit, they married in front of their closest family and friends.
