She decided to head out on the town with her girls for a night of drinks and dancing at one of her favorite downtown NYC dives. Her friend Devin had made mention of a guy named Zach coming out for the night that she thought would be just perfect for Avery to connect with, but at the time she didnt think anything of it. (…and spoiler alert, he was.) Zach and Avery had actually grown up just a few miles apart from one another in their childhood town of Ponte Vedra, Florida. But it wasn’t until that fateful night (25 years later) of dancing in New York City, that their paths finally crossed.
Whether it was heading out to play pickle ball, grilling out by the water, or just enjoying a long walk together, the two began spending more and more time together. Their fondness of one another continued to grow throughout each get together. Over the weeks that followed, they held their first “official” date at a local Mexican restaurant just a few blocks down from where Avery lived. Throughout that evening they shared laughter, conversation and drinks, and though Zach nervously fumbled through the guacamole, he couldn’t tear his attention away from Avery. As he walked her home that night, Avery, walked her way straight into Zach’s heart.
For Christmas, Avery gifted Zach with a helicopter ride over the city. In the weeks leading up to this, Avery had been trying her best to figure out when and where he would pop the question. Little did she realize that he had been saving that gift (the one she gave him) for the perfect opportunity to ask her to be his wife.
And of course, she said yes! When they landed, Zach had an extra surprise waiting for her as all of their family was all their to celebrate in their engagement!
I loved spending the early morning with these two capturing their engagement session along beautiful Magnolia Street in St. Augustine, and then jumping over to Vilano Beach to splash around! I cannot wait for these Zach & Avery to say I do this fall at Timuquana Country Club!
