They met out one night with friends. Megan was playing darts with her girlfriends when she saw him walk in to the bar. “Thats him”, she said, and without a second thought she rallied her girls together and made her way across the crowded bar, to the introduce herself to the guy across the room. With her girls by her side she introduced herself to Chris, and then proceeded to bombard him with questions. What was she thinking? This wasn’t her typical style. Normally, Megan would have stayed put and continued to socialize with her friends, but something was different tonight. Chris admired her boldness, and the two hit it off instantly. As they sat and talked together, time slipped away into the night. As their first night was coming to a close, Chris thought it best to exchange numbers, so he could take Megan out for a proper first date the next time they got together. One date turned into two, and three and so on, as their relationship continued to progress.

It was early one morning and Megan was surprised to find Chris acting a little bit out of the ordinary. They had made plans for lunch that day, but he said they needed to stop by his parents house along the way. He then rushed Megan out the door and into the car. When they arrived to Chris’s parents house,  they weren’t there long because he rushed her out the door there as well! Flustered at this point, Megan began wondering why the need to rush? Was there somewhere Chris needed to be that day? Weren’t they just going for lunch?

As they pulled into Betty’s, their plans deviated even further off course. A “closed” sign hanging on the front door of the restaurant welcomed their lunch date. It didn’t matter to Chris. He had the woman he loved standing right there in front of him, and a plan to ask her to be his wife. Chris shared with Megan, that he had never thought about settling down and starting a family, but since being with her it was the only thing he ever thought about. Flustered, and overwhelmed, he took Megan’s hand and pulled a rose out from behind him. As he fell to one knee, Megan caught the gleam of (his grandmothers) engagement ring, tucked down in the tightly wound petals.
