The story of how they met, is, well, a little uncertain. Their paths may have crossed while working at a local bar in Tampa, or, maybe they met through a mutual friend. Kelli and Jonathan both recall it a little, differently. Either way – one thing is for certain; they clicked.
It was around Christmas time and Kelli and Jonathan had been dating for almost two years. Jonathan knew Kelli wasn’t a huge fan on big public events, so he planned a private evening at home for the two of them, inside away from the hustle and bustle of the world. They stood together by the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree, savoring each others company, but suddenly, the room went completely black.
Every light in the house had gone out. Kelli wasn’t too sure what had just happened.
Had the power gone out? Did a fuse blow on the tree?
No, nothing was wrong. Everything had gone as expected. Just the way Jonathan had planned it to that night.
As Kelli looked around the room trying to determine what happened, her eyes paused for a moment on the tree. One bulb stilled remained lit on their tree. The bulb wasn’t what caught her attention – it was the sparkling diamond that hung from the ornament that took her breath away.
As the lights on the tree came back on Jonathan dropped to one knee and grabbed Kelli’s hand. With the twinkling lights as their witness, he asked her to be his wife.
We had an amazing time getting to know these two during their engagement session in Tampa! (I particularly love how much they both were laughing together almost the ENTIRE time!!) We cannot wait for them to say I do next year at Oyster Bay Yacht Club in Fernandina Beach!
