There’s something timeless about wandering the old cobblestone streets of St. Augustine. The charm of the Spanish architecture, the soft overcast light, and the quiet drizzle in the air made Ellie and Drew’s engagement session feel like a page out of a novel—simple, beautiful, and full of meaning.

We met in mid-June when summer in Florida is in full swing (read: a little warm and a little unpredictable!), but these two brought such an ease to the session that the weather honestly faded into the background. They were too busy enjoying each other—and it showed in every frame.

From Work to Forever

Ellie and Drew’s story began five years ago at work. Just two people “trying to look like they knew what they were doing,” as they put it. But what started as hallway hellos turned into Buffalo Wild Wings dates, late-night chats, and a friendship that quietly grew into something more.

Now, years later, they’ve built a life they love together—one full of laughter, deep support, and a shared home with their cat Minnie. And this engagement season? It’s just the beginning of the next chapter.

What Stood Out About These Two

They’re the kind of couple you instantly feel comfortable around—kind, down-to-earth, and so at home in each other’s presence. There was no performance here. Just quiet joy. Gentle laughter. A natural rhythm that comes from years of friendship. They’re not flashy or overly posed… and that’s what made this session so meaningful to document.

They complement each other in the way the best love stories do—not in dramatic gestures, but in subtle ones. In the way he steadied her hand. In the way she leaned in when he spoke. They fit—not just like a glove, but like a match carefully made over time. Thoughtfully, intentionally, and with heart.

Downtown St. Augustine Was the Perfect Backdrop

From the historic homes to the ivy-covered walls, every corner of downtown St. Augustine offered a different kind of beauty. The soft rain only added to the quiet romance of the afternoon. And despite the showers in the area, Ellie and Drew never once let it rattle them. They embraced it all with that same calm, sweet energy they seem to carry into everything they do.
